The ISC2 Capital District NY Chapter is the ISC2
chapter serving the Capital District of New York State (Albany, Troy, Schenectady, and
surrounding areas). We are a place for cybersecurity professionals, students, and all others
interested in cybersecurity to meet, network, learn from each other, and earn Continuing
Professional Education (CPE) credits. We aim to provide a welcoming environment for all,
regardless of experience or background. We meet monthly on the campus of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, in Troy, NY,
cohosted by the Rensselaer Cybersecurity Collaboratory (RCC) and the Division of the Chief Information Officer
(DotCIO).
In addition to the monthly meetings, the Chapter holds weekly CTF meetings for students, conducts
research presented at leading cybersecurity conferences such as the ISC2 Security Congress, and engages the broader Capital
District needs to provide our community with cybersecurity knowledge and education.
The ISC2 Capital District NY Chapter is currently in the chartering phase. If you are interested
in joining the Chapter, please sign up. Membership in the Chapter is free, no requirement to be an ISC2
member. Everyone is welcome at our meetings, no need to be a Chapter member or ISC2 member.

November 20
Our November meeting will be held on Wednesday, November 20, 2024, at 6:00 PM EST in the RPI Academy Hall auditorium.
Chapter member Holly Schneider Brown, CC, Senior Director of the of the Center for Cyber Safety & Education, the charitable arm of ISC2, will give a workshop on the Center. This is an excellent opportunity for us as a Chapter to learn how to get involved with the local community, community service activities, and strengthening our sense of community within the Chapter.
As Senior Director for the Center for Cyber Safety and Education, the charitable arm of ISC2, Holly Schneider Brown is working to build a global cyber community for good...and she wants you to be a part! Holly is the staff lead of the Center, managing a small but mighty team that works closely with the Center's volunteers, donors, program partners and beneficiaries from 127 countries.
Holly has over two decades of experience in program and project management across multiple sectors and has been leading the development and growth of impactful, mission-based programs for technical professional associations for over a dozen years.
While her work is global, Holly is a proud Capital Region native and loves giving back to the community through a variety of local impact organizations.
Holly has fond memories of visiting RPI friends in her college days, and she is looking forward to returning to campus!
